While Sussex Police is under fire over the 20% increase in complaints, (5% above the national average,) information buried deep with-in the web pages of the office of the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner reveal that the forces ex Chief Constable Martin Richards had 24 complaints made against him during his time in charge.

Posted by Sarah Tibbot from the Office of the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner on the 20th May 2014, it is revealed that from 1st October 2007 to 21st November 2012, records show that Sussex Police Authority recorded 23 complaints from external complainants (members of the public) against former Chief Constable Martin Richards. One complaint was received internally against Martin Richards, through the Sussex Police ‘Break the Silence’ internal confidential reporting system.
