Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner (SPCC) Katy Bourne has been caught out lying, having denied all knowledge of an independent candidate challenging her in the up-coming Police and Crime Commissioner elections set for the 5th May 2016…
In the same way Sussex Police Chief Constable Giles York was caught out lying when he denied all knowledge of Mr. Brian Setchfield and the events at Bohemia Road Police station in Hasting on 12 February 2009; Katy Bourne has fallen into the same trap after replying to a Twitter question from PCC Watch.
Asked whether she had a manifesto available to read for your PCC campaign? Katy Bourne replied, “Still working on manifesto. No other declared candidate in Sussex yet although nominations don’t close until early April.”
Evidently hoping that no other candidate will come forward, after which she’ll automatically be elected without any need for an election, Katy Bourne lied to PPC Watch knowing full well that Matt Taylor had declared his intention to challenge her for the post of Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner three months earlier.
This latest gaff in a long line of gaffs illustrates perfectly to the voters of Sussex that Katy Bourne has been lying her way to success since becoming elected SPCC in 2012.

What other lies hide behind the feminine facade of a seasoned politician?
For one, telling The Argus newspaper that she paid the £5000 deposit for the PCC election out of her “own funds,” is another because during the PCC election hustings both the Labour candidate Godfrey Daniel and herself admitted that their respective parties paid for it.
Remaining silent as to why ex-Chief Constable Martin Richards retired early is the prime example of the insidious methods in which Katy Bourne has used to hide the real agenda of a corrupt Sussex Police force and covering up the continuing crisis which runs deep within their ranks.

Rather than demonstrate the transparency which she and Sussex Police so often champion in their ‘Performance and Accountability Meetings,’ their refusal to answer the serious questions only adds further to the “Conspiracy Theorises” which she and the Chief Constable like to call them.
Katy Bourne is not fit for office and the voters of Sussex are slowly but surely waking up to this stark truth…
The PCC elections are set for May 5th and nominations close on April 7th at 4pm.
